Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare introduced today its new 990X All-Terrain Knee Walker with a rugged, steel frame and four large, knobby tires designed never to go flat.
As an alternative to crutches for anyone recovering from a below-the-knee injury or surgery, the steerable 990X is extremely stable for indoor and outdoor use and maneuvers easily over gravel, dirt, grass, mulch, and uneven pavement.
"Built for use with the right or left leg, the 990X's unparalleled versatility provides adjustable features to make a ride on any terrain comfortable and smooth," said Chad Mathon, Director of Product Management - Mobility for Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare.
Accommodating users up to 350 lbs., the 990X can be easily controlled with the locking hand brake lever and stops quickly with its heavy‐duty disc brake.
In addition, the 990X features height-adjustable handle bars and knee platform, making it easily customizable for the user. The comfortable, foam knee pad with suspension reduces pressure on the shin and knee, and the steering column folds securely for compact storage and transport.
The protective rear fender shields the user from dirt and debris, and the water bottle holder conveniently transports the included water bottle.

Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare announced the addition of the new Competitor® II Hi/Lo Height Adjustable Bed and Competitor II Manual Height Adjustable Bed to its product offering today.
“These new beds are value priced to offer providers the functionality of the Delta bed in a lighter weight, one‐person delivery design,” said Joe Oberle, Product Manager ‐ Beds & Patient Room for Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare. “By combining the Competitor I Bed ultra‐light design features and the Delta Hi/Lo Bed End assembly performance and reliability, powered by a single self‐contained motor housing, this new bed delivers performance and value right out of the box.”
The Competitor II beds include a pendant lock‐out feature that helps prevent accidental actuation of head or foot deck adjustment when in the locked position. The manual hi/lo beds are also equipped with a positive fit hexagonal crank connection for easy raising and lowering.
The large, glow‐in‐the‐dark hand pendant with easy‐to‐use controls quickly adjusts the head and foot deck section to meet individual comfort needs. In the event of a power outage, the 9‐volt battery can lower the head and foot section to a horizontal position. Two additional batteries can be installed in the motor housing to increase adjustment speed and extend battery life.
Capable of supporting up to 450 lbs., the beds are furnished with a slat deck for added strength and no‐sag mattress support, ultra‐light head and foot frames for easy one‐person transport and square tube steel frame construction for added strength and reduced weight.
Other features include bed end safety locks that slide over hanger pins and secure the frame to the bed ends to prevent disengagement, plastic bed end panels that are durable, lightweight, easily replaceable if necessary, and a self‐contained motor that can be installed and removed while the patient is in bed. The motor can be mounted onto the foot frame pegs while not in use for easy transport and storage.
These beds ship in two cartons for ease of handling, delivery and setup. The rails are packed separately for inventory flexibility.
