Joseph Lewarski
MHA, RRT, FAARC
Senior Vice President, Clinical Affairs
Joe Lewarski is a registered respiratory therapist, a Fellow of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), a former Navy Hospital Corpsman, and has been working in healthcare for nearly 40 years. He holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration and undergraduate degrees in respiratory therapy and business administration. Joe has been with Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare since 2015, and previously served as Senior Vice President/General Manager, Global Business - Clinical Care & North America Manufacturing Operations
Joe has held numerous senior management and executive leadership positions in a variety of healthcare organizations and environments, including acute care, homecare, pharmacy, and medical technology. Prior to joining Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, he held senior leadership roles at Omnicare, Inogen, and Invacare. He is a past AARC Homecare Section Chair and served two terms on the AARC board of directors, including a term as Vice President. He has also served on the board of AAHomecare, and is currently on the board of trustees for the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF).
Joe has published over 40 peer-reviewed research and scientific papers, three textbook chapters, along with myriad clinical and industry-related articles and white papers. He is a past recipient of the AARC Award for Excellence in Home Respiratory Care and the AAHomcare Homecare Champion Award. Joe also speaks regularly at regional and national pulmonary medicine, respiratory therapy, and homecare conferences.
Cale Wadden
BKin, MSc OT
Director of Sales Canada
Cale currently serves as the Director of Sales Canada for Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare. He is a trained Occupational Therapist with more than sixteen years of experience in the DME and home health care industry. He has worked with primarily adult and seniors patient population across various geographic regions in Canada, including rehabilitation, Veteran’s affairs, and complex continuing care hospitals.
Outside of Drive Medical Canada, Cale has a wealth of governance related experiences serving the last five years as the President & Chairman of the Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation along with working closely with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy. This year, he is also serving as an ambassador for the BMO Ride for Cancer 2024. Cale also enjoys opportunities to educate and support various strategic initiatives related to the home health care industry and the profession of occupational therapy. These experiences have aided his development of skills in the areas of industry development, policy development, stakeholder engagement, planning, and process improvement.
Cale holds a Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Acadia University.
Karen Lerner
RN, MSN, ATP, CWS
Clinical Vice President
Karen Lerner is a clinician with wide-ranging experience including DME, wound care, hospice, long term care and rehab. She develops and presents programs to help improve and expand aptitude in durable medical equipment in general, and specifically in clinically based equipment selection, wound care and prevention, hospice and pain, bariatrics, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and related topics.
She began her career as a critical care clinical specialist in major teaching hospitals from Florida to NJ and has been with Drive DeVilbiss since 2013.
John Zelczak
BS, RRT, CPFT
VP of Clinical, Respiratory
John is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist. He has a bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care from Indiana University of PA. He has more than 30 years experience in adult and pediatric critical care, DME and the medical device manufacturing world. During his time as a Clinical Respiratory Manager and DME Sales on the provider side, he was instrumental in developing many successful respiratory protocols including a comprehensive COPD readmission program. Since joining Drive DeVilbiss in 2015, John has been able to assist providers across the country with his clinical expertise while maximizing their profitability and managing their operational expenses during his role as Vice President of Clinical Respiratory. He is a member of the AARC and Pennsylvania Association of Medical Suppliers organizations and has spoken at many regional and national trade shows and conferences as well as published articles in his field. John was recognized as Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare’s Category Vice President of the Year in 2017 and 2020.
