Frequently Asked Questions
Find more information about our Therapeutic Support Surfaces
My low air loss mattress is sinking/not holding air. What could be wrong?
The mattress may have a leak. You can check the mattress for leaks by following the instructions shown here.
Why is my gel overlay sunken in?
The goal of the gel overlay is to allow the areas of the body that are protruding to sink into the overlay and reduce the weight being supported on that area. When the patient gets up from the overlay you may still see these depressions in the gel. This is normal. If depressions occur, gently knead the surface to redistribute the gel.
I just opened my compressed foam mattress and it’s not expanding.
Please allow 72 hours for the mattress to fully decompress.
Can I use fitted sheets on your low air loss mattresses? What type of bedding?
Deep pocketed fitted or flat sheets are recommended. Multiple layering of linens or underpads beneath the patient should be avoided, when possible, for the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries.
Can the firmness of a low-air-loss mattress be adjusted?
Most low-air-loss mattresses offer adjustable firmness settings to accommodate individual patient preferences and medical requirements. Check the product specifications for details on adjustability.
What type of seat cushions are available?
There are various types of seat cushions, including foam cushions, gel cushions, air cushions, and combination cushions. Visit our product listings to see our range of seat and wheelchair cushions.
